Is It Fair To Use EHRs and Other Information Tools To Measure and Compare Care Quality?
Fifty-eight percent of adults surveyed in 2008 said they believe it is fair for health plans to use electronic health records and other information tools to measure and compare the quality of care provided by medical groups, up from 47% in 2006, according to a survey by WSJ.com/Harris Interactive.
The survey also found that 87% of respondents are somewhat or very interested in rating their physicians on their health plan's Web site. Ratings would be based on areas such as trust, communications and availability.Similarly, 91% of respondents said that if their health plan posted those physician ratings online, they would be llikely or very likely to refer to them when choosing a new doctor.
Results are based on an online survey of 2,015 adults
between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8.
